About Me:
Swimming among the roots….What a powerful vision that has entered into my conscious reality. I had my first experience at a sweat lodge in the Georgia mountains with a powerful Shaman Tom Blue Wolf.
Attending a sweat lodge isn't something I could think up on my own so I appreciate my new found friend Kimberly inviting me to ride with her. A little about Kimberly, she is a 30 something free spirit who is a cross between the goddess Aphrodite and a medicine woman. She was very different.
Tom Blue Wolf calls the group of 10 strangers outside and lines us up somehow in order of our Auras. I'm sandwiched between a frail looking older gentleman and a strapping Artist type (I could tell he was an artist because his shirt was vintage bohemian painter style ; )
We squeeze into the underground dirt covered cavern carefully crawling and sliding past the pit of heated stones (or elders as they called them) in the center of lodge. Tom is the last person to enter the lodge cutting off the last bit of light and fresh air as he begins to pray and chant. He plays bits of something that sparks and smells like sage and the lodge begins to fill with smoke but it's a cleansing smell. Tom begins increasing the temperature int he lodge by adding water to the stones.
I begin to fight the feeling of claustrophia and the heat of hell and next to me the strapping artist begins to speak softly in my ear. He became my angel guiding me to lower my body close to the ground for the coolest air. He adusted his body to accomodate me and the entire lodge in pitch darkness began to shift to make room for each individual adustment…in seconds it was like we became one person.
Tom Blue Wolf has made it so hot in the lodge I've concluded he must have some issues to sweat out himself. Because He was certainly putting the rest of us through hell fire : ) on person couldn't take it and was let out the rest of us decided to see it through.
By the 4th round of heat I began to feel as though I was leaving my body. The 5th round I was gone…It felt as though my spine has grown roots that were traveling deep into the earth. The roots became fluid like sea weed in the ocean. Somehow I begin swimming in the roots through the center of the earth.
